RightToConnect Multiplier Event in Austria

On 11th and 12th July, Johannes Kepler University Linz organised a multiplier event in collaboration with the IKT Forum conference which was held in Austria. With an overwhelming response from the conference participants in day one, lead accessibility researcher Aashish Verma shared informative project flyers, factsheets and answered many questions about the project. In day two, JKU hosted a multiplier event which highlighted the importance of digital inclusion practices, competence development, e-learning courses co-designed by persons with intellectual disabilities. During the event, Austrian co-design team from Atempo showcased an interactive game that they developed which has been playing a crucial role for persons with intellectual disabilities to becoming a co-designer. Furthermore, the demonstration of various assistive technologies such as ChatGPT, speech-to-text tools, Seeing AI, Google Lens, and Mackey-Mackey highlighted the opportunities of such technologies to improve digital accessibility and inclusion for persons with intellectual disabilities. Prominent experts and researchers in the field of digital accessibility namely Andrea Petz (JKU), Prof. Klaus Miesenberger (JKU), Anja Winkler (ATEMPO), Silvie Stanie (ATEMPO), and Priska Unsinn (ATEMPO) spoke at the event.
